This painting is part of the series Metropolians; this series is all about being absorbed by the manmade concrete world and finding your way out. My paintings are inspired by slightly apocalyptic thougts. In my scenario's there's always an escape and the viewer is even not sure weather it's pleasant trip or not. The fish in my painting represent lost creatures that are evidently out of place, like a fish out of water. The counter idea of this painting is that we all will probably submerge with the ocean again, sooner or later. In the best-case scenario we have to wear high boots or bikinis. There's always hope!
